The building includes a very high level of thermal insulation, thermally broken double glazed windows and doors, low VOC materials and finishes throughout, an exposed fabric duct air ventilation system and a building envelope that meets German passive house standards.
Materials selected for the project included a mix of blackbutt and fibre cement sheets externally cladding, marmoleum flooring, recycled external decking and painted oriented strand board.
Project value: $758,000 (excl GST) including design, consultant and authority fees, factory and site based construction. Form of Contract: AS4300. Factory based construction = 12 weeks.
